Villa Andromeda Boutique Hotel is located in western Crete in the district of Halepa in Chania, the region’s capital. The atmosphere of Chania is vibrant and cosmopolitan, and it is an absolute delight to stroll around the Venetian harbour with its charming, characteristic narrow streets where you’ll find an abundance of tavernas, cafes, bars and shops. It also an excellent starting point for further exploration of western Crete whether your interest be archaeological, walking, cycling, or simply relaxing and enjoying some of the wonderful beaches. The centre of town with the busy indoor market with its array of fresh Cretan produce is only a 20minute walks away, as are the public gardens that have peace and tranquility.
The stylish mansion with 8 suites was built in the 1870’s and has been has been lovingly restored in keeping with the original architectural style. It served as the German consulate when Crete was an independent state. It still retains parts of the original ornate painted ceilings, including some unique Cretan patterns, as well as antiques and white marble floors stair cases.
A big veranda overlooks the sea to where there are stunning views towards the beautiful Venetian Harbour of Chania. One of the joys of Villa Andromeda is the huge garden which surrounds the hotel with its incredible variety of plants and shrubs. There is also an inviting pool to cool you down on warm summer days and evenings.
Breakfast is truly a memorable experience and may be taken either in the privacy of your own suite or on the villas verandas. It includes tasty homemade jams, piping-hot croissants as well as a variety of other homemade Cretan specialties.
