Boutique Hotel Fortino Location

Even though the atmosphere of Chania is vibrant and cosmopolitan the area in and around the Venetian harbour retains its old town charm where it is an absolute delight to stroll around the nearby delightful, characteristic narrow streets where you’ll find an abundance of tavernas, cafes, bars and shops.

Chania is also an excellent starting point for further exploration of western Crete whether your interest be archaeological, walking, cycling, or simply relaxing and enjoying some of the wonderful beaches. Car hire is if course an excellent idea, but if you feel you would rather not drive main bus station is not too far away and the bus service offers frequent and good connections to main towns along the coast and there is a service to some of the villages.

The busy indoor market with its array of fresh Cretan produce, the Municipal Garden with peace and tranquility, the Archaeological Museum, the lighthouse, or the beach at Nea Chora are all within walking distance.
