Chryssana Beach is a friendly, well appointed small hotel just outside Kolymbari in western Crete. Kolymbari is nestled between the sea and the cliffs at the foot of the Rodopou peninsula. It is 30km west of Chania, the region’s capital, and is a tranquil local village with a small picturesque harbour and good local fish restaurants, as well as a bank, a chemist, and a handful of local shops. The sand/pebbly beach at Kolymbari stretches far and locals are very proud of the fact that it was awarded the Blue Flag.
A regular local bus service runs along the north coast to Chania and is a ‘must’ visit for any visitor to the area. The atmosphere of Chania is cosmopolitan and the Venetian harbour is a sight to behold with little fishing boats bobbing up and down on the water on the eastern side, while the waterfront on the western side has an abundance of cafes and restaurants ranging from local to chic. Narrow, picturesque and characteristic streets with a splendid array of shops, boutiques, small cafes and tavernas lead off behind the waterfront. Theotokopoulou St. is one not to be missed with its characteristic Venetian buildings and ornate balconies.
The village is also an excellent starting point for further exploration of western Crete whether your interest be archaeological, walking, diving, driving and exploring little Cretan villages nestled in the hillsides, or simply discovering and enjoying some of the wonderful beaches of western Crete. However, with its lovely pool and relaxing poolside terrace furnished with sunbeds & umbrellas, the pool bar for refreshing drinks and snacks, the a la carte restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and not forgetting the beauty salon for holiday pampering, you may find you don’t want to venture much further than this welcoming hotel. The beach is only 25mt away if you fancy a dip in the sea.
The hotel sits in a colourful garden and has 45 comfortable rooms that are housed on two floors. Room types include Double, Superior and Family Rooms, all of which are beautifully decorated in white with touches of blue and have a sea view and modern amenities. Most rooms are twin bedded though some have a double bed and some rooms also interconnect for families with children.
Renovations were undertaken in 2012 resulting in an elegant fresh new look. The dedicated staff are most obliging and will help make your stay as pleasant as possible.
